Default My new song: Completely

If you'd like to take a listen to a new song I've written (Completely), I've posted it up on my website, www.rickbarthnj.com.

I'd love to hear any comments you may have on it.

Thanks...

Rick

Rick, you have a good singing voice and the song "Completely" sounds good to me. The lyrics are easy to follow and they flow well with the melody. From a recording perspective, it sounds like you are using a pickup for the guitar, that is, it doesn't sound natural, so use a mic for the guitars (even the lead part). If you did mic it, then you may consider trimming the mids and increasing the bass to give the guitar more body. Also, get a pop screen to prevent those wind-puffs from plosives, or try to anticipate and direct those bursts off to the side of the mic to prevent the pop. Overall, it sounds like a good song with good potential. Thanks for sharing it.

Rick,

Nice mellow sound to this and it ids easy to listen to. I agree with Bob that the guitar would sound better with a mic.

Thanks for the reply and the suggestions.

It's true it was done direct (no mic). I will try it with a mic and see if I can improve upon the sound.
