Default My ode to the headstrong child

Around 1992 or so I wrote 'Water Off A Duck's Back' as an Ode To The Headstrong Child, namely our daughter, Nicole, who's going to be 32 later this year.

She turned out just fine despite our best efforts.

This is the token vocal track from my new cd, The Wall Talks.

I did 2 tracks with my National Resolectric in open G tuning. The basic fingerpicked pass is through a Fender Princeton Reverb, and the bottleneck track is through my 1955 Danelectro Model 68. My buddy Jimmy Bralower did the drum program, and I did the duck.

I hope you enjoy it!

Outstanding in every way. And... errr... I have a few head strong children too. My #1 is a doozy... he will make it just fine though.

Hi Sal,
My mom always said, basically, 'I hope you have a child just like you'.....

.....just like most parents probably said to their children at some point in time.

Thanks for positive reinforcement!

You're in NJ, right? I've been getting weekend air play on WDHA-FM by Jim Monaghan's All Mixed Up Radio on Sunday mornings! Also got some on WFUV's Mixed Bag and WPWL Pawling Public Radio on Porkchop's Blues Time.

One step at a time.

Awesome job on this, Howard! Not only great playing and great arrangement, but I also like your vocals!

Hi Glenn,
Thanks!

I've somehow gotten positive comments about my vocals over the years. I just can't account for them, or more to the point: I can't hear what they are hearing!

I've been compared to Eric Clapton, which is insanity. He has a gorgeous voice! I'd take his voice in a heart beat!

I've been compared to Jerry Garcia. I don't know what to say about that, except I'm still here.

Regards,
Howard
