Big cup of black coffee, two pieces of white toast with grape jelly (kid at heart) and a long family bike ride on the boardwalk of my little beach town...

I did You Are My Sunshine this past Thursday at a song circle I attend. I always need to have 3 songs ready to go. So this time, I just picked songs connected to Louisiana. Huh?

I always thought this song was an old folk song, public domain.

Nope, written in 1939. A country singer named Jimmie Davis and one other are credited for the song.(Though truth be known, they bought the rights from the real writer of the song.) He was govenor of Louisana twice. He used the song in his campaigns.

It is one of two official songs of Louisiana.

Now this knowledge and another $1.50 will get you another cup of coffee, lol.[emoji4]

Same as always.... an early lunch around 1100. (I'm not a breakfast eater, but will sometimes have a carton of nonfat yogurt on the rare occasion that I wake up hungry).

My cats are always real interested in having their breakfast first thing, often waking me early. Never mind that three flavors of premium kibble are out all the time. It's not the same if someone doesn't SERVE your breakfast.

Crab Cake Benedict, coffee and tomAHto juice at our local Original Pancake House. Best part? Accompanied by wife and both sons - sadly, D-I-L on dog-sitting duty so she couldn't join us to complete the immediate family.

My wife gets up earlier than I and leaves a glass of cool orange juice on the landing for me, whenever I emerge.
Then, as I wind up the computer and radio, either wifey or myself make my first cup of tea, strong, noooo sugar!

Then, for eats .. a banana, two "weetibix", milk, Greek yoghurt, and honey. with more tea of course.

Then two or three more teas until a lunchtime sandwich at about 2-4 ... with tea of course.

Had leftover grilled Beyond Meat burger with cheddar cheese.Since my wife has gone nearly vegetarian I've got to find palatable options for my meat needs and these burgers and brats aren't too bad, if they're grilled.

Funny, they taste even better the next day, warmed up?!?!

I had to get up earlier than I like and head out to pick up a trailer we're using this week. I grabbed a Sparkling Ice drink on the way out and got a Sausage McMuffin at the McD's drive through. That's unusual for me; normally my breakfast is either leftovers from the previous night or oatmeal, though sometimes my wife makes bacon and eggs.

That is a little too early for Slim Jims for me.

My typical is just coffee with a little cream and honey.
