As long as we're talking ales, Belhaven. Since it is an import from Scotland it is a might dear here in East Texas but it is delicious!

Anyone like me that likes a variety? If I'm at a brewery, I'm getting a flight. I also homebrew but rarely have the same thing on tap twice. Life's too short to drink the same old, same old!!

There's a definite Autumnal feel in the air now, so something a little darker and stronger required to keep the chill at bay . . .

Another beer I would sample just because of the bottle!

Here in East Texas it is 93F with a heat index of 101F. I would love to have some Autumnal about now!

Always do it. My last brewery trip was to a place that was also a B&B and restaurant in Abbottstown, PA. It was a weekend package trip. Beer flights were included with the dinner and my wife doesn't like beer so I had hers too.

Same thing happened a few years back when we went to the Dogfish Head brewery after a nearby bike race I was participating in. I got all her beer tickets. They had 120 Min IPA on tap that day.

That's the other thing i normally do. If there is a particular beer in the flight I like, I will get a growler to take home.

No I have not, but I will now look for them. It shouldn't be too hard to find them here.

I have been lucky to have been able to find most all of the beers on the Ratebeer Top 100 in my area. The notable exceptions are Ale Smith Speedway Stout and the Westvleteren from Belgium. All the Belgian Trappist ales are obtainable except this one.

agreed, Yuengling is a good, no-nonsense beer. Readily available and reasonably priced.

Good point. I may have to grab some this weekend. It was my personal Go To for years. I've tried varying replacing it with varieties by Samuel Adams, Great Lakes and Southern Tier (which are also readily available around here) but sometimes a good basic lager like Yuengling will go quite nicely with simple home-cooked fare. No need to go all hoity toity.

I flat out like beer. I like my cheap stuff old-school, like Old Style and PBR, but I also dig fancy schmancy microbrewed IPA's, Belgians, Sours, dark beers in the colder months...

I'm really into "juicy" IPA's right now...there's some local made ones that are just killin.' Junior Astronaut Juice, from Illuminated Breworks here in Chi-Town, is amazing. Hits almost every taste bud.

Kinda cool now, I have two brewery/restaurants within 5 minutes of my house, and they're doing some great things...

I like the Black and Tans and their Porter. What I do notice about the regular lager is that if you put a glass of it next to a glass of Sam Adams they look the same and taste the same.

If you like dark beers...
Cutthroat Porter or Black Butte Porter and Obsidian Stout have been three of my favorites for a long while now. I also tried Two Brothers North Wind Stout this summer and liked it a whole lot.

I generally like "Big" Ales. Boss and I share the same enthusiasm and hunt for favorites through the app beer menu. Drink only one and let them warm up a bit so the flavors come out. Founders has some great ales in all styles.

I do like an ice cold lawn mowing beer on hot days. Surprising as it may sound, Hamms is a good one.

OT: what's this "barrel aged" trend all about? I saw a few in the local market cooler and noted that they were quite expensive.
