Default It's Friday, by Dean Brody

I'm a little late - I was planning to get this posted for Friday. Anyhoooo, it's a really fun little song to play close to the weekend.

Warning: quite a bit of Canadian content here - Dean Brody is a popular Canadian artist, and the album release and music video both feature yet another popular Canadian maritime band, Great Big Sea.

As always, I'm eager for any feedback or suggestions on how to improve the performance.

It's Friday

Steve

The link didn't take me to the song.

Steve, the song halts unexpectedly at 2:47

I backed up a few times and it always freezes at that same spot.

But! What I heard sounded cool. I'll support any anthem about Friday!

Nice job Steve! I really like that guitar and admire how you challenge yourself with diverse songs. Well done.

Hi noman,

Thanks for listening and glad you liked it.

I played the YT video several times on several computers and it played through to the end at 3:10. The good news is that you got all but the tail end.

Hey, Roy, glad you liked it. I really enjoy the tone of the DN8 - it seems to sound better, the lighter I play it.

My goal is to have a good selection of popular songs from all generations and many genres - we're slowly getting there.

I really liked this steve - nice groove goin! I think in a live setting you'll get a little more animated, and it'll be fantastic. Nice song choice.

Hey PG,

Thanks again for lending an ear, and I'm glad you liked it. Yes, I can't wait to play it out live.

Me, too!

Nice job, Steve.

As a suggestion, I would say that varying the attack and the strum pattern might make the song a little more entertaining than it already is.

Thanks, Jeremy. It's funny, I did try to vary the attack from light touch to heavy to light, however it doesn't seem to come across strongly when you listen to the song - I guess I'll need to think about varying actual strumming pattern or no-pick/pick or fingerstyle/ strumming, etc.

Anyhooo, thanks for the suggestion.

Steve
