Not what i was hoping for. How disappointing. I thought fender would take a swipe at Anderson and Suhr.

The American Ultra series introduces yet another type of noiseless pickup. “Ultra Noiseless pickups” and “Ultra Vintage Noiseless pickups” on P90s.
This will be Fender’s fifth generation noiseless pickups.
Time for the sound comparison discussions to begin.

Yeah, I got the American Pro almost 2 years ago and that was the latest greatest thing and will say it was the one that grabbed me the day I got despite playing 3-4 other Strats. Still glad I got it and most reviews confirm its marketing hype. Guess there is still room for another. Gilmour, Beck, Clapton and many others seem to think one is not enough.

Hmmm...contoured heel and recent-generation Noiseless pups. AND a big price increase...still, they haven't gone completely Gibson-stupid with the prices, but that's 3-to-5-hundred more than the equivalent earlier generation top-line Strats, et al.

That's one reason I built my most recent Strat out of a decent MIM...same features (except for the heel contour, which I don't even notice), all in for about eight bills.
