Sanzone L-5 build thread
The second of my current archtop batch, a traditional 16" L-5 drawn from a 1929 Gibson - should've bought that thing when I had the chance! In use here is the last one-piece sitka top I have, sourced from a doublebass set. This special instrument also has a quartersawn one pc Euro maple back, which comes from a giant flitch I purchased bc (before children). X-braced with a lower arch profile to bring out a rounder and more powerful bass response. Also has a great piece of birdseye for the neck. I'm excited to get this one done! Inquire if interested, thanks for looking!

You don't see wood like that every day, even on AGF. Thanks!

Very elegant F-holes. Somewhat reminiscent of Benedetto, though narrower at the extremes.

Very nice so far! More pics please...
Do you like the Sitka better than red spruce for tops? Would tone bar bracing make for a punchier tone? |
