Most of the furniture that people own is literally glued-together sawdust covered with plastic made to look like wood. I think my ziricote X20 is a big step above that!

I go both ways... no, not "coming out" - with an Emerald with a lovely louro preto veneer, and another with the gorgeous carbon fiber weave, I see the beauty in both. Scott, I don't think the OP was "throwing down," I think it was an attempt to justify getting an Artisan vs a Custom Woodie... yeah, good luck with that.

My Ferrari 458 Italia is mostly CF - maybe I can get them to do a Cocobolo hood for me.

Wait, just snapped out of that dream. I drive a Tacoma... my bad.

Well hang on there, a cocobolo hood on a Tacoma might be quite fetching.

Ironic? For ironic I'd love to put a Cummins diesel in a Prius.

Okay I think I've come to peace with the veneer idea, based on the video that was just posted of the itnerview with Alistair. He says the veneer process:

1) Gives each guitar a unique character that CF guitars otherwise don't have.
2) Lets you enjoy exotic grain patterns that would be unsuitable for structural wood. That's the real clincher -- exotic wood grains are superfluous and "impure" too, really, since they're just for decoration. So what's wrong with elevating that love of swirling grain to its greatest potential?

WHEW!!! Okay time to get ordering.

I'm not that deep a thinker. I accept it for what it is, a beautiful and incredibly durable instrument.

That is stunning! I am hoping my X7 order ends up being its little sister, as I asked for a custom blue much like the turquoise in the center of yours.
