Sorry for your loss, Daniel. You made the tough decision and that’s hard, but the right thing. Part of the contract we have with our pets is that we do right by them at end time

Had to take one of our cats to the vet this morning. We've had her for nearly 18 years.

Very upsetting.

Three years ago we lost our cat of 17 years so I can certainly empathize with what you're going through. Losing an animal is just as painful as losing a person. My condolences.

Been there and know how you feel. Our rescue cats gave us everything they had for 17 years. Hardest days were the last. We have their ashes in an urn by the fireplace....they liked fireplaces.

Smile

So. It has been a week today since we had to put down our best furry little friend. My wife and I are better now. We miss him an aweful lot but we know we did the right thing in not having him suffer a painful and needless path to his final day.

Anyway, I just need to pass this on as it is comical in a strange kind of way. See, we had our cat cremated and wanted his ashes back with us. Today, our animal hospital called my wife to say that “your cat’s after-care product is ready to go home”. That means his ashes!

What? My cat’s what? After care product? Really? So tomorrow we will pick up our cat’s “After care product” and bring it home. Not to make fun of our vet staff (they were simply awesome) but it just struck our funny bone and brought a smile to our face for the first time this week!

On a shelf in the living room my wife and I have the urns that hold the ashes of our last three dogs that passed. I never thought of them as an aftercare product. Makes them sound like a dandruff treatment or something!
