I'm sure they're fine if you want strings that light, but I prefer regular light gauge acoustic guitar strings. They have more oomph in the lower registers than the ultra-light strings than the Deering guitar-banjo strings shown in the link.

I experimented with the full range of guitar string gauges when I first got my Deering B6, ranging from these ultra-lights to regular mediums with a .056 low E. I found that the lights are what suit my playing the best.

So my recommendation is that anyone who beginning on guitar-banjo should experiment with string gauges, as well, as you might surprise yourself with what works best for you.

I once asked for an opinion on a six string and was told they burned longer... I've got a Stagg 6 string, it was $200. I don't play it much, preferring tenors but it does cut through, loud and better sounding than it should be. Seems better quality than the other China banjos.

Default Speaking of strings ...

Haven't sprung for the six-string myself yet, but anyone got an opinion on Nashville-stringing one of these puppies?

I tried Nashville strings and it will sound more "banjo like" cause of the high strings. Its a cheap experiment so go for it. In the end I found the normal 6 strings more versatile.
