My Larrivee OM-03R with the patched key crack. It was a gift and is otherwise precious to me. The one thing I would change about it is to have it refinished and buffed from satin to gloss.

At this moment it would be my Russel Crosby FS Elite baritone/multiscale

I only have one flat top guitar and have no compulsion to purchase another...

My Gibson J-185 is the best playing, best sounding. Both acoustically as well as plugged in.

Has the Fishman Aura Pro electronics.

G string at the nut is just a tad low. Periodically I'll do the fill with bone shavings and super glue.

It tells me when the humidity is drying out, (will start to buzz as top shrinks)

So if there were one thing to do, would be to replace the nut.

But....Naaaaaaa

That's a tough one - the Gibson J-30 would win out because I have owned it forever. But, boy would I miss the Harmony Sovereign.

It would be the 2004 Merrill C-28 on the left in Adi/Honduran RW

What would I change about it if I had to pick something? I'd make it have the slightly thicker neck of the equally awesome 2009 Merrill C-28 in Adi/Cocobolo on the right.

Your One and Only!

If I only wanted one guitar, I would only own one guitar.

  1. The Gretsch G5622T-CB 3-PU cats'-eye that serves as my main gigging guitar
  2. The strings - they're a real PITA to replace with the old-style pinned Bigsby and I try to avoid it as long as possible - otherwise it's a perfect fit as is

Mostly likely mine will be the Martin 000-15SM I ordered yesterday.

Bob Thompson "Oversized" OM with Englemann top and Brazilian back/sides. About the only thing I'd change is a cutaway and different neck angle (to accommodate higher fret access) if I could have one "wish".

I'd stick with the Martin and the Mcilroy. The best of both worlds

Default Your One and Only!

It would be my Leviora CF guitar. I can go to anywhere with it. No need to worry about the humidity and temperature issue. Also the strings tension, no neck reset is required. The only maintenance I need to do is change strings.

Fan fret with side sound port. This guitar has great sound and comfort to play. I'm very happy with it.

If I really need to change a thing on that guitar, may be machine head in black color.

I’ve basically HAD one and only for most of my adult life. Ther have been 2-3 of them, but one at a time. I just added a second good one a week ago - I’ve never had two acoustics of this quality before. Don’t ask me to get rid of one NOW!

Yamaha FSX5. Not super high-end, but the best one I have.... and it works great for flatpicking bluegrass or fingerpicking Irish tunes.... which pretty much covers my bases.
