CET: if you just look at the lower bout section, in between the lower legs of the x brace, you'll notice the area in between the tone bars is much smaller then the other two areas. the soundboard in that region is divided into thirds but not evenly. strictly imo, having the top braced up into equal sections promotes an even tap tone across the top of the guitar and reduces local (for lack of a better word) "differences" in pitch.

I understand what your trying to say here, but your hybrid bracing pattern of an X brace with lower fan bracing is a different style pattern. I think he was looking for critiques regarding that specific pattern's execution, not what pattern others may feel is a better option. Just sayin'.

i did offer my opinion of the op's bracing layout and if you read carefully you'll discover that i did not mention any pattern's superiority over another. the example that i posted was used to describe the opening up of the lower bout's area into equal sections regardless of how it's done. opinions being what they are, i in no way suggested any type of particular "pattern" that works best.

not the best example i can find , but i think that this shows a bit more separation of the tone bars as i had mentioned:
