Hmm, not sure. Maybe need to put more on? I had plenty of time to rub on the entire back. I rubbed on with a folded piece of a t-shirt and I wiped off with a paper folded paper towel in direction of grain.
This is about 4 or 5 coats with no sanding/steel wool yet. I didn't fill the pores as I wanted this look. Minmax wipe on poly. clear gloss.

Wow, that looks really nice. I did notice that you're using the clear gloss, and I'm used the clear satin. I wonder if this has a difference?
May I ask for some additional details on your recharging process of the folded t-shirt? Do you have it in a dish and dip it? Do you pour it on the surface? I'm trying to gauge how much liquid you actually have on the t-shirt so any info could help in my next refinishing project next month. On a separate note, it seems in the top-right glare in your picture that the pores are coming through the finish, did you fill them prior to adding the poly? ... Joe |

I just pour a quarter size puddle onto the rag. Probably twice would do the back.
I didn't fill the pores as that's the look I wanted. Hope that helps
