I still have mine! Sounds great, and built like a tank, too. It was the first amp I ever bought, to go along with a wood-grain finish Peavy T-60 guitar (which I also still have).

Not many amps since then. I did upgrade to a Fender Twin Reverb in about 1986, and got a small Peavy Classic 20 tube amp for home use in the mid '90s. Now I play without an amp at all and just use a modeler/effects pedal.

Back in the early 1990s, a harsh on the ear solid state budget model with 12” speaker, I forget the make, to amplify a surprisingly well made Korean Squier (not Squire) Telecaster one piece maple neck.

Blues Junior III - hard biased, very loud clean before harsh break-up. Disliked this amp for 2 years then a breakthrough: it taught me how to coax golden tone with fine touch on the strings. A game changer. Sold during a difficult financial time.

Now: three small Fender tube amps discussed in a separate thread devoted to them, including another Blues Junior III, this one soft bias, colourful midrange, excellent amp.

These have been my main performing amps. I only keep one;
In 1986 I got a tiny Fender first>
Carvin SS>
Fender Ultimate Chorus>
Boogie Rocket44>
Fender Bassman 59 LTD>
what I have now and that's a Yamaha THR100HD.

On the side I have Fender G-Dec 30 and a Yamaha THR5 both for practice.

I have a bunch of amps but these are the ones I play most often:
  • Marshall Vintage Modern (head and 4x4 cab)
  • Marshall JVM (head and stock 4x4 cab)
  • Traynor YVC50 combo (blue tolex)

The Traynor is an awesome amp and they're made outside of Toronto, Canada.

Too many to remember. Especially when factoring in acoustic amps also.

Most recent and notable...

65 Fender Twin Reverb Reissue. Far too much amp for my needs. Was a holy grail amp. Headroom for miles. Just too heavy, loud, and eventually unused. So sold it off.

Egnater Tweaker 15 head and 2 Egnater 1x12 cabs. Great amp. Very versatile. But, G.A.S. Had its way and I sold it.

Fender Lacquered Tweed with Jensen. Fantastic amp that loves pedals and sounds stellar with most guitars I’ve paired with it. Home studio that is used frequently

Vox MV50. On my live board/fly rig. KILLER head. Super tones. Built in Attenuator, line out and cab out that can be run simultaneously, very amp like in tone and sounds great with all of the pedals I’ve paired it with, eco mode, NuTube technology. Its been a great solution to helping keep the stage free of clutter, while providing great tube tones.

Incoming....Vox AC4C1-12. Looking forward to hearing this little gal. If it’s what I’ve been told/and what I’ve read she’ll be a great addition and used frequently. Should be a great match for my Gretsch guitars.

My brother has a 100 watt Dumble power amp for his Leslie. It’s in an anvil case. Loud as a jet taking off.

Default Amp history

I regret to inform you I need a Caterpillar to dig a hole deep enough for all the amps I have tried over the years. I currently use a Schertler Unico with a 10 inch speaker for my nylon string guitar. I AM DONE!!! Such madness.

Blues Juniors in small rooms are tough on audiences. Those icepicks sail right past your ankles and lodge in the paying customers. Maybe also consider a Princeton.

The first amp I owned was a Sears Silvertone that my mom bought for me when I was a kid. I have no idea what model or configuration. When I got into my first band I was playing bass and bought a Fender Bassman that saw duty for several years even when I switched to lead guitar.

Later, I was in several bands with the same lead singer whose father owned a music store. We got to use all sorts of equipment so I didn’t need to own anything other than the Fender.

I made the switch to mostly acoustic guitar and the Bassman sat unused and was ultimately sold. I bought a Carvin Vintage 50 for the occasional electric gigs. I still own that. However, it’s been supplanted by a Victoria Regal II which is an amazingly versatile amp.

We also have a dedicated Roland keyboard amp for the Roland keyboard and a couple of modeling amps hanging around.

In the early '70s the first thing I plugged into was a Thomas organ. I found a 1/4" jack on the underside of the keyboard with a switch that turned off the organ and activated the 1/4" jack.

A Sears amp. Very simple.
1976 Peavey Classic
Roland Cube 30X
Roland Cube 80x (still own)
Roland Blues Cube Stage (still own)

Ultrasound acoustic amp. A 2 channel configuration.
SWR California Blonde. An earlier model.
If I need an acoustic amp now it's a powered speaker and a small mixer.
