Indeed. I am gutted. lol

BTW, I'm loving the Collings Traditional. Most enjoyable playing for me since I got the Marquis. You gave me GAS for one last year with your videos. I couldn't find the Adirondack version locally, but fell for the Sitka anyway.

Sitka topped version may well be just as sweet. Maybe more! (I was the instigator?) I'm sorry ..and ....you're welcome? LOL I can be a real trouble maker.

JBL has gotten aggressive in their pre-roll out on the EON one Compact, a couple on line vendors are advertising a price slightly below $500 w/ a shipping date at the end of the month.

I'm considering a pre-purchase at Guitar Center, w/ their return policy I could avoid shipping charges if I didn't like it.

Sweetwater has it listed with a discount around $495. Wow.

I'd buy it from Sweetwater but for the shipping if the unit is underwhelming, then it's the Bose S1.

Generally I avoid Guitar Center but w/ local returns I think they'd be useful here.

I am tempted to get one too. I wonder if it would make a good floor monitor if and when I don't use it as a stand alone?

No pre-release presence on Amazon yet. I'll probably wait for reviews here ... and then promptly miss the big sale like I did with the fifty percent off offer on Boss Acoustic Singer.

My take is that it’s expensive for an 8” two way speaker (perhaps debatable considering the battery) if that mixer isn’t fully featured with gain and impedance matching for common mics and pickups. I plan to try one out in the store and see how the mixer performs.

What is it with JBL and gain staging? It's like there's a design philosophy that keeps veering off in a weird direction, even though these things are built by engineers who have years of training and experience making stuff.

It reminds me of an SUV manufacturer that's been around for years that keeps bringing out small and mid-sized vehicles with unnecessarily small gas tanks, the end result being larger gas-guzzlers that can travel much farther on a single pit stop. You just have to give up on them eventually because they have different priorities--although not having to worry about getting stranded somewhere in a 4WD vehicle, or not having to duct-tape a signal booster to the side of a portable PA whose chief benefit is convenience, seems like a reasonable expectation.

Exactly! Plus I think I owned that compact SUV with the small gas talk you eluded to. LOL

Dave, an hour ago, I sold my Martin HD-28 with Trance Amulet M-VT, and a minute ago, I almost pre-ordered the new JBL EON One Compact for 10% off from Musician's Friend but stopped before doing so. Do you think that along with GAS I have the even more dreaded GGAS (Guitar & Gear Acquisition Syndrome)?
