Default Did a TV interview with Alistair Hay of Emerald guitars this morning.

I work at Mississippi State University and one of my responsibilities is teaching entrepreneurship. I’m building a library of interviews with successful entrepreneurs and asked Alistair Hay at Emerald if he’d be willing to be interviewed. To my surprise and delight he said yes and we just wrapped up a 30 minute conversation. I hope to post it in its entirety sometime in the near future. He was sincere, thoughtful, and very interesting as he told his story and the story of Emerald guitars.

On days like today it is hard not to love what you do.

That should be fascinating to watch. Do let us know if you’re able to post the whole thing somewhere!

Cool! This should be interesting. I look forward to it.

Some years ago, I had the privilege of FaceTiming with Alistair for about an hour. Although we chatted about my Chimaera 6/12 order, it was a laid-back discussion that covered a lot of things, including family life. These days, I doubt he has time for such discussions. He’s a real nice, great guy. I’m so pleased with his success.

I Just watched this again. It really makes a huge difference when the interviewer obviously loves his Emerald guitar, knows what questions to ask, and does so in an engaging way. Thanks!

That is very kind of you to say. I’m glad you enjoyed it. The hard part was not coming across as too much of a fan boy.

You came across as someone who sincerely appreciates a finely made instrument, and Alistair's journey.
