I love Stephen Wake, but couldn't get on with his version of Rosemary's Sister as much as other pieces as I am lucky enough to have seen the song's composer, Huw Williams, live nearly twenty times and he played it in EABEBE, so that's the tonality in my head. Not that Stephen's version is bad - far from it - but I always like to make people aware of Huw, who is probably my single biggest source of inspiration.

I'm a big fan of Wake's. I've been in DADGAD for the last few weeks and now I'm heading back to Orkney tuning and CGDGAD as well to see how my new cedar Furch works there. Thanks for the mention of Huw Williams, I'll check him out.

I'll add in Will McNicol from the UK.......he simply pulls more out of a guitar than almost anyone I've listened to. Wonderful originals.

He's a fine blues musician and equally adept at standards as well writing and performing as his originals. I discovered him late on in 2012 when he brought out the 'Brother Sinner and the Whale' album, which has turned out to be his last - it was really sad to see he had to stop touring the following year due to nerve damage to his right hand. As well as the track mentioned in the post, I would certainly recommend the compilation he released 'Roll Away The Blues The Very Best Of...'. If you like acoustic fingerstyle blues, then I'd urge you also to check out Eric Bibb, Keb' Mo, Rory Block, our own Toby Walker and some other artists who have been round a very long time: Stefan Grossman, Wizz Jones, Ralph McTell, Taj Mahal and of course, Jorma Kaukonen.
