Default A guitar for "Taylor Mathews"

Taylor is a Louisiana Native and now lives in Ca. He dropped in during the summer and we discussed a build for him. The set he chose was a Cocobolo set that I cut a few years ago from some billets I had purchased. The fretboard and headstock will be from the same board. It will be topped by a Faux spruce top to match the color of the back and sides. He wanted a few custom things but not to much bling, just simple stuff like a buffalo on top and his initials at the 12th fret.

More photos of the build. The top is Spruce but got a stain and faux finish to match the sides. Going to have a satin finish when done.

I love the stained top - it looks great! The binding looks very striking against it. I assume it's flamed maple?

Looks very nice! Cool stain on top; it's fun to get someone who wants something out of the norm.

Thank a lot. You never know what it inside a board until you cut it.

Thanks for the compliment. Yes it has curly maple bindings.

The top is perfect against the sides/back. Very well done!
Could pass for sinker redwood.

Thanks guys. I was excited to do the darker top and see the results. I plan on doing more as I really like the results.

That looks gorgeous, so far. I love the way the spruce top is "faux-ed" to match. Simply stunning.

Made some progress, strings are on and headed to the waiting room to settle in and get the Tonerite for a week. I will do finish setup after the Anthem is installed.
