Kennedy Parlor Lutz/Rosewood
Sad to say it, but GAS has got me, and I have decided to sell my beautiful little parlor (type 2). I'm truly sorry to do it, but happy wife, happy life.
Selling for $off the market PP friend/family plus CONUS. Some details: • Rosewood back and sides • Lutz spruce top • Hot hide glue construction • Bone nut and compensated saddle • Abalone rosette • 3 ply black and white purfling • Ebony bridge • Waverly tuners • Shamrock heel inlay • 24.9" Scale Length • 1 3/4" Width at Nut Terry Kennedy builds some truly amazing little guitars, this one is number 32. Please take a look at the photos below. Condition: Sounds and plays superbly! Looks great--Terry just makes excellent instruments--is not in mint condition. There are some pick marks from a previous owns, and a couple hairline scratches on the back which I was unable to get to show up on photos. The most notable blemish is on the lower bout, please see photo below. It's been there for some time. The case is in great shape, some scuff marks. Let me know if you have any questions. Happy bidding! I'm not very good about uploading photos, here's the flikr link. (If anyone out there is able to help talk me through uploading photos from flickr to AGF, please feel free to PM me--all help is greatly appreciated.) https://www.flickr.com/photos/92917798@N05/ https://flic.kr/p/2gaeR9U Last edited by rebbemeir; 12-13-2019 at 08:49 PM. Terry Kennedy here. Just saw this. The bridge should be BZ although the pictures do look a lot like Ebony. I had some very dark BZ bridge blanks from Walter Lipton at Euphonon at that time.
Unfortunately my notes on that one don't list the bridge wood. I remember using Ebony on the first size 2 but my recollection is BZ on all subsequent instruments as well as 99% of all my other models. Wish I could be more certain. BZ is a great wood for bridges. Pin spacing is 2 1/4” Addendum: I just went through some old build photos from 2008 and it does look like that is an Ebony bridge. I guess I made two with Ebony before i switched to BZ. Terry, thanks for clarifying.
You have built a truly beautiful guitar here. I am so grateful for your craftsmanship. I have enjoyed the tone so much for the time I've had her. Thank you, Meir |
