Buy the guitar if you like it.

Otherwise Gibson will build you any guitar in any finish, or almost -- so forget the collectible aspect.

Besides, "limited editions" are only limited by the numbers that the company can actually sell.

i find the gibson version to be more resonant and have a little more of the J45 growl.

I'm not sure about the wine red Gibson J-45. I'd prefer the old cherry sunburst finish than an all-red top anyhow. I do know that the ice tea 'burst was something pretty much reserved for custom J-45s with koa back and sides.
