Apologies for the thread drift. I have nothing to add.

So, apparently, I'm going about this all wrong.
Thread drift on:
Thom Bresh tells a story of his father Merle Travis:

A young kid comes up to Merle and asks, "Mr. Travis, what type of strings do you use?"

Travis replies, "Huh? Guitar strings, of course"

And now back to our normally scheduled thread . . .

[ Size=2]

If you want to find out if guitars age, and what that is like, buy a good one and play/keep it enough years that it will age.

This was the first thing I thought of. Good advice too.

It's the player not the guitar

Any guitar is better than no guitar

Plenty of beautiful music has been made on cheap guitar shaped piles of junk.

Be nice.

And, what you don't like now, you may end up liking later.

Except pretty much every topic has been discussed more than once before, so this would be a pretty dead place were everyone to live in fear of bringing up something that had been mentioned before.

My advice is for those who think it is "trouble" to answer a question for the 2nd/3rd/4th/etc. time, then simply skip the thread. Or at least answer the question succinctly as well as point them to older threads for more info. Imagine a teacher who avoided all student questions and only told them to go do their own research.
