Wow - that silver blob is really ugly in the picture. It ruins the aesthetic of the guitar. You're a better man than I, I wouldn't have played it for a minute.

In general, I think you should do whatever makes the guitar most enjoyable for you. While some modifications can substantially decrease resale, a properly placed strap pin (in the Taylor position) is not one of them. Other placements are a bit more iffy...but you still might want to do what will enhance your enjoyment for as long as you own the guitar.

I would not hesitate to do it. Its an upgrade....
Now, I will not put one on my 1959 Gibson Mando....
