Default “Waltz for Spring” original piece on a Hatcher “Greta”

Recently made a video for one of my solo-guitar tunes entitled “Waltz for Spring” - if you need a zen moment this one’s for you it’s also on Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon music, etc

Like all of my solo-guitar pieces this tune is meant to feel like a journey. The first small movement is the closure of Winter and the rest is completely up to the listener’s interpretation. The tuning is good ole EADGBE with a modulation halfway through.

Big thanks to Mark Hatcher for recently building me this “Greta” model with Italian spruce and Brazilian Rosewood, she’s a real keeper. Basically a 15.5” wide OM style guitar that feels great for this style of playing.

Thanks for listening, folks.

Beautiful work, Dustin!! The Hatcher is a pretty amazing instrument with a cascade of beautiful sounds in this piece. Some really nice dissonant and resolve in some of those great chords going on there!
Congrats on a beauty!!

Hey Mark!

Thanks for sharing. Great piece. I like the ‘up to interpretation’ as I thought that as the piece progressed, it became less peaceful but more dramatic. Then again, that could have just been my awe in your skills.

Great production value on the recording and video. And I’ve seen posts of your luthier’s builds, but this was a great opportunity to hear how one sounds with a variety of techniques.

Super fun to watch and listen to!

Cheers,

-Dave
