My favorite teams are the MN Twins and whoever happens to be playing the Yankees today.

It's hard being a Twins fan.
So I peripherally follow the Red Sox - a consistently impressive team and the current streak is awesome.

Go, Indians!! ;-)

Thank you, guys... we appreciate it!

I remember Dent's shot. That was amazing. Who'd a thunk it?!

I'm a lifelong Cardinal fan. If we win a hundred or lose a hundred, I'm still a fan. We're kinda mired in the middle of the NL Central and that's probably where we'll end up. Can't complain... we've had our share of NL pennants in my life.

Go Mookie! 2 at-bats so far tonight. 2 triples!

I worked nights at NCSU’s McKimnon Center. So when I left home to catch the bus, Redsox were up.

My bus driver was listening on a transistor radio. He announced the Dent homerun. Got to my office in time to see Yaz pop out with tying runs on base.

Kerbie, your Cards owned the 60s.

The Yankees have 4 all stars and Sox have 5.

Go Sox!

You know what the chant is at Fenway: Yankees s___! It rhymes with duck.

I think my "old school" thinking just can't get a grip on modern sports and the attendant hysteria.

Joe Epstein wrote in the WSJ of various prices at the ball parks. Bleacher seats at Cubs games is $75, season tickets at Yankees next year are $20,000 (They are good seats too!) There is something wrong when a family of four cost about $500 to go to the baseball game. Forget about player loyalty when MILLIONS are on the table (Who can blame them).

I still watch the games but with no feeling of loyalty, I just like to watch the games played at a high level-------and in the comfort of my recliner too!

Yeah I’ve got a dog but in the NL West we’ve got to see who falls apart after the break.

My Cardinals just can't seem to get out of their own way any more.

Might be time to clean house.

I used to attend 25-30 games a year at Royals Stadium back in the 80's and general admission in left or right field was $3 and parking was $3. I cannot afford to attend any major league sporting events at today's prices. What a shame. How does a regular Joe get to expose his son to major league baseball at the investment needed nowadays? So sad to see. TV has jumped the salaries as advertisers pay exhorbitant fees, but must be getting a good return

That is somewhat the way I feel about it. I avoided professional sports for a bunch of years after a statement by a player rubbed my nose in the fact that for too many of them it really is just about the money and not the love of the game.

I've moderated that and now watch the games on TV and root for the home team, but it's with a level of detachment. I like it when the home team wins, but it doesn't make my day, or ruin it if they lose.

Further, I don't buy any merchandise, and I doubt I'll ever attend another game.

I used to be a Pirates fan. Nuff said.

Personally I think MLB has been a sham since the 1980s. I can’t wait for hockey season.

No doubt about that. However, Target Field on a lovely summer evening in Minnesota makes up for a lot.

Apparently, management agreed. 25 guys on the field underperform. So, fire the manager. Well, it’ll shake things up.

I don’t follow the Cards daily, so I don’t know the issues. But I liked Matheny as a manager when he was with the Halos. Can’t see Schmidt as an upgrade.

Well, that's a bit misleading--there's still several dozen games a year you sit in the bleachers for under $30.

Just bring a blanket. Or three
