Default Flop Eared Mule

I received a mandolin for an early birthday present last friday and have been wrestling with it since trying to learn how to play. Lots to go still but I have been anxious to lay something down with it. So here goes..... my version of this old time tune. I hope you enjoy it.

Shorty:

I love the song, your mandolin playing sounded wonderful to this very nice tune. How long have you playing mandolin? I am wrestling right now in buying one. Just thinking it would be great to learn and play along with my Guitar.

Sincerely
Andy

Hi Andy, thank you. I have been playing mandolin for just one week now. I wish I had gotten one sooner as they are a blast to play although youve got to re-train yourself from habits acquired from playing guitar that do not work with the mandolin. Great instrument and I recommend trying one if you have the desire to.

Cool! Nice pickin' Shorty! I love the sound of a mandolin and guitar together, so one day I'd like to give it a try it too. Thanks for sharing that.

Super Shorty! I loved that track. I just love what a mando can bring to a song. They have the ability to create a mood, be it old time tune, high lonesome or anything else. So that's just a week!!?? Yowser that was good!!

Hi Bob, thanks! Yes there is something very cool about how an acoustic guitar and mandolin accompany one another. Match made in heaven.

Hi Roy, I totally agree, the mood that is conveyed is very nostalgic, love it! Yep, one week into my mandolin career. Thanks for listening and for the comments.

That's a right nice fiddle tune you got there! You have some nice tone coming from that mandolin of yours, what did you use to record with if I may ask?

Aw shucks, thanks Will!!

Nothing fancy recording wise, straight into the computer with a 24 bit MXL mic through Adobe Audition. Couple of turns here, pans there, and wella!

Thanks for listening
