Looks like you are all set and ready to go now.
Have fun with the new toys.

S1 came in last night. Thanks to everyone who suggested it. My kids realized they can use it for both karaoke and stand-up so I only got about 30 minutes with it myself. Really simple and sounds great.

It's a great little unit. I've used it mainly for impromptu background music, and streaming for a party, but yesterday I finally set it up as a monitor on the fly where I didn't think we'd need one. Played that role well.

I debated on this purchase for a LONG time but you have to be realistic about what this unit can do (setting ALL the Bose hype aside).

Pulled the trigger on a Turbosound iP300 I got for a good price on Sweetwater instead, no regrets! Sure it’s 10lbs more then the S1 but it’s 600 watts (122db max SPL) with 120 degree dispersion, built in bluetooth & reverb, and a 3 channel EQ with smartphone mixing capabilities. Truly a one-stop-shop!

The only thing it is missing is a battery which is easily solved these days with a small Grant Maya portable power station easily had on Amazon.

The S1 Pro is limited as many smaller PA speakers are.
I have a larger PA for the times that I need one.
This S1 will be doing a lot more of my shows now because of it's size.

I play solo at rooms that have less than 50 people in attendance most of the time.

I won't know how well it will work for me until January.
Getting a shoulder replacement in 3 weeks and will be out of commission
until then.

Can't wait for January!

A little off topic, but wish you well with your surgery and for a quick recovery. Then you can get back out there!

I am floored by how expensive the S1 Pro (with battery) is, $699, wow! Is it me, or has the price increased over time?

Not here in Europe. In facts I got two a few weeks ago that were cheaper than those two I bought in 2018.
While Bose isn’t cheap they didn’t use inflation of 8% to increase prices (till now). Compare that to European gas suppliers who went up by 300-600%.

I expect a price increase for batteries in future. So, spend your money now and save inflation of 8% each year.
