Does anyone have one of these, or have played one in a store?
I was nosing around the Internet and I came across a video of a kid playing one of these. They look very interesting. I noticed around a little more and another video I saw called it a soprano guitar. He said it was similar to if you put a capo on the 12th fret of a regular guitar. I would like to find out more from someone who has played one before I go and order one off the Internet.

I've never played or even seen one before but it looks like good example--along with 6-string banjitars--of something that would difficult to resell on Craigslist. The 12-string version doesn't sound like a mandolin, and the 6-string version even less so.

Phydaux, I play both guitar and mandolin, and my experience trying out these hybrid instruments is that they’re the worst of both worlds. I’ve tried both the Gold Tone version and the more expensive version that Gibson was making for a while. They have none of the low end of a guitar but don’t cut through like a mandolin.
