Default New guitar day

As I posted last week, I decided to buy a Cordoba C-12 cedar. It arrived on my doorstep last Wednesday.

It was listed by Guitar Center as a "return" & was really discounted from brand new. I spent a lot of time on the phone asking questions and getting photos sent to me before making the purchase.

It got the usual 24 hour acclimation period in my house before I opened up the box.

Upon opening it, I gave it the magnifying glass examination and aside from a couple tiny scratches on the tie block. It's like brand new. I sent the serial number to Cordoba and they said it was made around June 2019.

I started playing It & noticed 3-4 sharp edges on some frets and it appeared to need a minor tweak on the truss rod.

After playing it for about an hour, I put it in the case & humidified it for 48 hours. 2 Oasis humidifier (1 in the sound hole and 1 near the headstock) and a double bag of the D'addarrio humidity packs under the headstock.

Now that it's been properly humidified; I've dumped the strings that it came with. It's now got Savarez Cantiga normal basses paired with Hannabach 825 normal tension trebles.

The fretboard relief is great, a quick swipe with my fret file got rid of the small remaining sharp edges on the frets.

I'm going to play it for a bit more before deciding if I want to lower the saddle & action a bit.

I'm really loving the elevated fretboard!!

Wow! Beautiful looking guitar, if it sounds half as good as it looks it will be great!

Beautiful guitar! Hearty congrats on your new C12.
The back medium strip looks like sapwood. I have a very similar one on my Cervantes. It's an attractive finish.
Main thing though is the tone. Glad you're happy with it, as well the elevated fingerboard.

According to the Cordoba site, it's flamed maple wedge on the back of the guitar.

It's a nice looking wedge.
