Default Vimeo???

Why doesn't anyone use Vimeo as it looks and sounds so much better than Youtube?

Because Vimeo has in the past imposed a limit on uploads by non-paying members, and because YouTube has taken great strides to improve the quality of their clips. You can now upload 1080i AVCHD and PCM audio, a full spec Blu-ray file, to YouTube, and they'll return a pretty decent clip.

These are 720p clips and were uploaded before I learned about using PCM audio.

I agree, vimeo looks and sounds better in the video aspect, as well as looks a good bit more professional.

But there is nothing compared to the community on youtube. Youtube is sort of like playing the lottery for free - if you are lucky enough to get noticed / a viral video you can get views + ad revenue or even enough exposure to break beyond the internet realm.

Thumbs down

There was actually a website I was using almost exclusively for awhile called VIRB. The sound quality of anything I uploaded was pretty much equal to that of the original file I was uploading. Then they made it a pay site and I lost all my videos!
