Default Chomper cases

An old thread mentioned cases that could chomp down and scratch a guitar.
I noticed I have one case that the latches do have chompers

But I have an old Martin case that is flat upper and lower. IMG_6916.jpg
So which brands have chompers and which are somewhat safer ?

I did this .... ONCE! - on a beautiful Daion Legacy with tobacco burst.
never again.

Always put your case flat on something - floor chair arms or whatever.

I have a Martin case with those same latches. I thought that was pretty smart... but letting the lid fall on your guitar can still do some damage.

It's just a matter of being careful... and I still have guitars with a few "case bites". I try to never remove or replace the guitar in the case without the lid being supported.

Edit: Visesnut cases have a twist-flip latch (like they have on road cases) that doesn't have a "tooth" on it. But the larger latch could swing down and do damage too, if you're not careful.
