Yams, could you post smaller pics by chance? It would make it easier to follow!
(might take too much time to shink em?) Usually with radius dish, you use a handplane to take it down to the radius (the funnest part of building IMO) and then sand for a few minutes to get a match, then add the linings a bit above, then sand those to radius. You can also put the (bottom)radius into the sides when you cut them. Lookin good! |

Big or small images? I used pre made stencils for my shapes including the the curve in the sides. The put the radius dish on top and "Drive the Bus" as John Hall puts it is easy and quick.....if you're are not grinding down 1/4" of mahogany blocks. The linings are a micro hair under in 1-2 spots. So, it looks like I will grind to them. |

Picture size
Please leave them this size John, my specs don't give enough magnification for smaller sizes ( in other words ) me and my eyes are getting older and need the larger size to see and the thread is coming along great.Ship

So, Last night I did a small detail. I filled in one short peice on the Kerfing next to the Bottom Block. This Morning I was scraping out glue bleed on the sides with a scraper.
I was careful but got careless! After 20 minutes, while working the waist from the inside (unsuported) I heard CRACK!!!! My heart sank, heart raced, denial....... I was so upset I couldn't look................... 3 "teeth" of Kerfing had popped off!!!!! The side was fine! So, with a big smile I glued them back on! Glue clean up! Next time I scrape support the wood Johnny! WOOD FOR THE FUTURE BUILDS...... I have some cracks forming in one of my Private stock 1" Walnut boards. So I drew aproximate guitar sizes so I can cut out the cracking. I will recoat the ends. this time with out of date french polish shellac My daughter saw the splashes of white paint that made the Mouth and some big hair, so she made the rest of the face and named the board "Happy Wood" Fliss, The Parlor Markings are for you to see first I need 24 1/4" for each side board |

Gosh, John.
I left for a few days and come back to see you haven't waited on me to watch your next move. Go figure. I love your daughter for naming the guitar, "Happy wood." All guitars need a name!

Having a young tattooed female artist in the family, who is talking about happy wood, would sound strange to some folks, John, but your AGF family loves and accepts 'those kinds' as our own.
I didn't see the tat until you pointed it out!
