Default Wild Mountain Thyme by Stephen Wake

Hi all

I really enjoyed this piece and learning it - Stephen Wakes playing is very precise and gentle to my ears and that was my challenge. Stephen plays it at capo 5, but I just couldn't get comfortable with the tone up there so played it at capo 3.

I recorded it using a different mic setup than my normal spaced pairs (see thread on the RECORD forum if you would like to see pics/details etc)

I have been trying some GHS thin core strings after they were recommended in another post a while back - these are the mediums which work fine for me given this is Orkney tuning.

I hope you like it and thanks for listening..

Nice rendition of a beautifull arrangement, great tone.
Was that actually recorded outside ?

Very nice, Peter. And you get a great tone out of that guitar, even over the Internet!

Very nice. Many renditions of this piece are played on nylon string guitars but I've always thought the celtic vibe was more pronounced on steel. You confirmed my opinion once again.

That was so beautiful, very sweet sounding... Wake's tunes remind me a bit of our AGF brother UK Phil who I absolutely enjoy. Wrighty you played this so nicely and was a joy to listen when I got up this morning. Thank you for sharing your gift with us.
