Hey Dru, my wife and I enjoyed Timeless, and Abigail Spencer is terrific in the show. We binge watched it and so had no idea about it having been cancelled and then resurrected. Interesting! The series did seem to wrap things up rather quickly at the end which makes sense given its double cancellation history.

Since you enjoyed Timeless you might like Travelers (if you haven't seen it). It has an ensemble cast of interesting characters and involves time travel much like Timeless, but with an interesting, different premise.

11.22.63 was a pretty good book, made into a pretty good mini-series.

Firefly - the movie Serenity was essentially a condensed version of what Firefly season 2 would have been according to Joss Whedon

Altered Carbon

Travelers - shame this was canceled, especially with how season 3 ended

12 Monkeys - possibly the best finale in a series I've seen. Season 1 loosely follows the concept of the original film, but then goes wildly in its own direction for the remaining seasons

To me Stranger Things is more like horror/fantasy more than sci-fi. But it’s a great show that brings me back to my childhood.

They use to run all these old B&W serials in between the movies on Creature Feature and Sinister Cinema on Friday late night TV when I was young.

I read the book and it was amazing, as is all of Stephen King's book. I watched the mini series on the plane. I'm a frequent flyer for business and I would catch an episode or two each flight. Great show.

To me the best is Babylon 5. The first SF show to have a full story arc. IIRC, the first TV series, as opposed to movie or mini-series to have that full arc like a novel would. Also the first TV series to make extensive/complete use of CGI as opposed to models. For the techies among you, it was done the first couple of seasons on Amigas with Toasters for rendering. IMHO the CGI still holds up remarkably well.

I've heard good things about The Expanse so I have started watching it.

Two series that I think might have ended up being great are Crusade and Firefly. Both were cancelled right about the time they started getting really interesting.

Does anyone remember Voyagers! tv show? It was on in 1982 and lasted only one season. Jon-Erik Hexum and Meeno Peluce. They went back in time every episode and the young Peluce knew history and would guide them. I enjoyed it but I haven't seen an episode since it was cancelled.

Does Mystery Science Theater count? (Haha)

But seriously, my favorites are The Mandalorian, Lost in Space (the new Netflix series), The Man in the High Castle, Stranger Things, and Westworld.

And one day I’m going to sit down and watch Battlestar Galactica, only because I’m a huge fan of The Office, and it’s Dwight Schrute’s favorite show.

You will go on a good ride with BSG. It truly is a well done show with a very satisfying ending.

Yep. The whole family liked that one. You can buy episodes on Amazon, IIRC.
