1932 Gibson Nick Lucas Special -- now $13.5K + shipping
This is one of the very few Nick Lucas Specials made with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. Guitar was professionally converted from the original floating bridge setup to pin bridge -- a maple bridge plate and correct replica bridge were fabricated and installed, as well as tortoise pickguard and new fretboard binding. Tuners are original and work well. Body finish was slightly oversprayed (apparently many years ago, as it has checked nicely since then). Nut calipers at 1.73"; saddle string spacing is 2 3/8". Guitar has original fretboard and headstock inlays; back of neck was refinished as part of the restoration. No top cracks, no side cracks; one glued back crack; has filled holes where the tailpiece was attached and a small stable split at the soundhole by the neck. Label is mostly intact. Comes in new hardshell case. Rare and great guitar and price is reduced to $13,500. I am trying to shrink the collection and cash is preferred but partial trades will be considered. Please feel free to ask any questions or for specific additional pics.

There's been some interest in this guitar but no buyer so I'm reducing the price 10% to $13,500. Not really sure what the "value" is, though the few of these I've ever seen have been at higher prices. Let me know if you have questions.

Wow, just wow! A call to Gruhn Guitars should help to place a value perhaps.

How it the action? Maybe it’s just an illusion but it looks extremely low in the picture? Thx!

Action is set pretty low for fingerstyle, as new pics detail -- about 6/64 on the low E and 4/64 on the high E at the 12h fret. You could raise it with a new saddle.

Maybe a dumb question, but what would account for the label being in such poor condition, it being mostly free from damage inside the guitar?

I dont know - maybe somebody was trying to clean the inside of the guitar or tried to remove it or it started to come off during a repair or who knows? I guess stuff happens over the course of 88 years...

It looks like it possibly got pulled out of the way when the back crack was being glued

That could be - I can't really tell from looking at it.
