Default Taylor 712 or 714 with CEDAR top?

I don't understand why Taylor quit making the 700 series guitars with cedar tops...?? Seems they are now sitka over IER... Why make them with the same woods as the 800 series? I really miss having the cedar/rosewood option.

Most of the 700 series is still available with cedar top. Check out their website.

I've tried two Taylor 714ce cedar/rosewood guitars, and one was pretty underwhelming (mid 2000s) while the more recent one (2012-13?) was a stunner. If you can't find one locally (new or used), I would hesitate to buy one online unless they have a return policy.

This one seems pretty close to new and has a return policy:

Default Taylor 712 or 714 with CEDAR top?

Thanks for the feedback and reverb link.
I didn't realize they still made the 700s with cedar since most all I've found are with the spruce top.

I have a 2011 just like the one on reverb. Wonderful instrument. Beautiful sound and easy to play.
