Has it been the Card's hitting or the Nat's pitching? Cards can't get anything going offensively.

I think the Nats' pitching is very good, but the Cards can't buy a hit. I think we burned them all up in the 13-1 blowout.

Well, the Cards need to find hits now, or wait another year.

Kerbie,
It’s possible to win 4 in a row when you’re down 0-3. It’s been done. Once.

Agreed
Wow. The 8th was murder.
You’ll get em next year. Right now, I’m an Astros fan.

Well, I bummed that my Cards got pounded. I think the combined score was something like 20-6. That's a whacking.
I'm not a Nationals fan, but I greatly respect what they've done this year. They struggled in April and May trying to find themselves without Bryce Harper. Then things began to fall into place, guys rose to the challenge and they're a much better team without him. As great a player as Harper is, there were always reports that he wasn't the best team guy in the dugout and locker room. Without him, this team just came together and seem to be having a lot more fun. They were the better team during these four games and I have nothing but hearty congratulations. They deserve to be in the World Series. PS... Still a great season for the Cardinals! Last edited by Kerbie; 10-16-2019 at 05:23 AM. |

I agree with Kerbie.
The Expo’s pitching staff excelled. Sanchez’s gem in game 1 was a coffin nail for the Cards. He’s the rotation’s 4th or 5th arm—and he flummoxed the Cards’ hitters. Then, they had to face the big 3. Meanwhile, a rainout in the AL gives Houston a shot at resetting its rotation up 2 to 1 over the dudes in pinstripes. Hats off to the Nats/Expos. I’m hoping they go on to whoop the Colt 45s.

As a Brewers fan, it doesn't break my heart to see the Cardinals loose. However, I never dreamed they would get swept.
I don't care who wins the AL, I'll be rooting for the Nationals.

Unfortunately, the Nats are going to have to wait for the winner of the Yanks/Astros. Sitting around in October doesn't bode well. Just ask the 2012 Tigers.
