Do You Hybrid Pick Your Crossover Nylon String
I bought a nylon string crossover to explore finger style playing so I’ve been
doing that for several months, then moving to a thumb pick to see how that works. Then circling back to a standard flat pick because that’s what I generally use on my steel strings. So how about a combination of all that? After all, can Chet Atkins and Richard Thompson be on the wrong track? So I ask, who hybrid picks their nylon string, and what picks do you prefer? Cheers, and thanks. |

I use a hybrid technique with my classical guitars. My right index finger doesn't allow me to play with traditional classical right hand technique anymore. I use a flat pick.

Thanks for the response. Do you have a preference for pick shape, material, gauge etc. to achieve a good balance of tone/volume against fingers played strings?
Cheers! |

In general I use a standard fender pick. I have found if I round the tip off I get a warmer tone. You shape them like fingernails!
