Kansas - Can I tell you something!!
This is the prototypical sound of the non FM radio music I grew up with, i.e. not a dance tune or what you would play in bars, so of course my band back then did this kind of stuff, along with country rock when the world was acid rock and heavy metal.
We actually had a fiddle player for 3 years, and were playing Kansas and Poco and Moby Grape and early Eagles and were a very difficult sell for our agent; do they play dance music..........well, no but they're pretty good! I loved having Hammond B-3/M-3's in the band, the fiddle wasn't bad either! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uX0H_anNJE4 How about this for a power ballad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyn8I...eature=related

Hey Rich . . . those were fun to listen to, thanks for posting them. I've always loved the sound of the Hammond B3s. After college I played in a "power" duo (ha! ha!) with my buddy who had a Hammond L100 (among other keyboards). The L100 wasn't quite as big and heavy as the B3 but it was big and heavy enough to wreck my back for all eternity. Oh the memories! Think I'll pop an Advil.
