Laurent Brondel A1c
A buddy of mine asked me about how this guitar sounds with the Pernambuco back and sides. I still don't know if I can describe what I'm hearing except that is seems to have characteristics of Rosewood, Maple, and Mahogany all rolled into one. So I did some recording of it yesterday for him and thought I'd also share it here. The strings are Phosphor Bronze but I don't know the make except I know they are not coated. This guitar was previously owned by two other AGF members however I am fortunate that it ended up with me since I really enjoy having it. It has worked for me in many different alternate tunings and has a really nice bass for what appears not be a thick body, maybe 4.25" on the tailblock with a 25.6" scale.

I played that guitar at Artisan before it went to its first owner, had a positive reaction and would have liked to spend more time with it. Enjoy!

I haven't played a Brondel, and though I realize that the tone is primarily a result of the builder's choices and talent, I do feel Pernambuco can offer some uniqueness in tone. But, it's hard to attribute what is due to the tonewood and what is due to the rest of the variables, especially since there aren't a lot of guitars built with Pernambuco.
