Default For David Lindley fans

I heard the news about El Rayo-X. Sad indeed. If you find you can't get enough Lindley, here's a master class in the master multi-instrumentalist:

Enjoy at your leisure.

I came across this one today. DL was a huge talent and his death leaves a hard to fill void.

Steve Dawson posted his longform interview with David Lindley on his Music Makers And Soul Shakers podcast page. Be sure to listen, as Mr. Dave is highly entertaining in this up front and personal listen to what he was all about.

Highly recommended by me!

He was an amazing musician. I first saw him in the early 1960s at the Topanga Canyon Banjo and Fiddle contest, playing banjo and fiddle solo or in the Smoggy Mountain Boys. He was in his late teens and I was a pree-teen.

I was a huge fan of his next band, Kaleidoscope, and saw them many times at the Ash Grove.

Later on I followed his career with Jackson Browne and El Rayo X.

Not sure I ever saw him live after about 1970. He was a great influence on me, helping to convince me to buy a banjo in 1964,

Goodbye Mr. Dave, RIP
