Default Laurent Brondel A2 Brazilian German Artisan Guitar Show Build Thread

Howdy Folks, Laurent is building me a guitar that will be displayed at the upcoming Artisan Guitar Show in Harrisburg PA, April 14-16... If you are attending the event, be sure to check her out in person and give Mr Brondel a High Five for me...

https://www.laurentbrondel.com

https://artisanguitarshow.com

This guitar is the final instrument of a deal we made a few years back that involved trading my stash of old Brazilian sets i collected over the years. See attached link for the first 2 guitars that were completed already, they have been absolute favorites of mine... The first two are 25.6 and 25.375 scale, one with an ebony fingerboard/bridge and the other snakewood fingerboard/bridge... and this 3rd with be a 25 inch scale with a Brazilian fingerboard/bridge....

https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=634237

I admit having 3 similar guitars is total overkill and unnecessary, lol, I'm doing so because Laurent is a favorite luthier of mine, and I'm in love and inspired every time I crack the cases... building and playing guitars is the biggest passion in my life, what's more fun than this... Switching back and forth between my two Brondel's this past year has filled countless hours with joy, Thanks Laurent...!

I'll attach pics i have so far and will update as i receive more... Some of the pics im uploading are viewing sideways, In my phone they are right side up, not sure how to fix, pardon me... Thanks for viewing...

I gave Laurent permission to use his artistic judgment and build whatever he desires... he's made some awesome suggestions im really excited to see come together...

That is one spectacular set of Brazilian for the back and sides. And the fingerboard is insane. What is the top wood?

Thx, The fingerboard is Brazilian also, I expect it to look really nice after the frets are in and the wood has oxidized, I find over time it looks less dramatic and becomes more dark and mellow... The top is German Spruce...

So what happens when you run of out Brazilian to deal with? I hope you've gotten your cup full with this one! Really nice guitars these Brondels. Don't regret buying one myself.

Oh man... another super awesome Brondel build thread!

Everything about this build smacks awesome, but I am really digging that fret board.

Can't wait to see the finished product and read your reaction!

Keep the pictures coming!!!

This will be killer. I hope you’re at least changing the tuner button color this time around, DD!

A couple fun ideas Laurent had that I’m excited about are Maple bindings, I would have not had the guts to choose that myself, i can see now where he was going, it will look really cool with the bluish burl trims and dark sides, and the maple will show figure under the varnish… also a Spanish Cedar neck…!
