Default Ramirez Guitarra Del Tiempo

I am wondering if anyone has played one of these Ramirez Guitarra Del Tiempo or the very similar 125 or 130 models? What your impression was of these, they certainly look beautiful. And youtube sound clips seem great, but I would appreciate hearing how they compare to other classical in this price range.

I had a 125 Anos for a very short time. Unimpressed with the tone. Maybe just a bad example?

Thank you for the input. I see a Loriente Clarita in your signature, I assume this guitar has won out over quite a bit of competition?

That would be correct.

I've probably had 25 or so instruments in the 1000-3000 dollar used range over the last 20 years, but it's the best. I had three other Claritas that weren't as exceptional.

I had a Michael Thames Braz/Italian here a while back and I'd pick this Clarita over it every day! Can't imagine ever letting it go.

As you probably know, I'm prone to cutting ports in my classicals, but this one sounds so good I haven't been able to talk myself into it yet!

Is this a recent Clarita? And I wonder if you find the spruce top is preferred or maybe it is just this individual guitar that is special?

it's a blue label, so the way I understand it - it's a "newer" one with the truss rod....I don't think it shows a date on the label, but I'll check.

The cedar topped Claritas I had were definitely too dark to my ear - I had one other spruce top (maybe two now that I think about it) and they weren't quite as responsive as this one.

I'm not sure what kind of magic dust they put in this one, but it's really quite wonderful!

I own a 2021 Guitarra Del Tiempo Cedar and like it very much. To me it sounds like what I think a Spanish guitar should sound. I'm no expert though, and I haven't really played other instruments in that price range.

My other guitars are a 1976 Ryoji Matsuoka No. 40 and a 1975 Mitsuru Tamura, No. 1000. I like all of them.

Thanks for the report. Does the Ramirez play as easily as the others? The older Japanese guitars I have seen had very nicely carved necks and I have heard that some Ramirez have baseball bat style necks.

I find the the neck on the Ramirez to be very similar to my Japanese guitars. I lowered the saddle a bit, though. I find it very comfortable to play.

I'm getting a little off topic, but the Japanese CGs I've owned (S. Nakade, Hirade 5 and 8, Takamine C132S, Brune 30) have all had comfortable necks, usually around 51 mm in width.
