Default Hatcher Studio '23

Well I'm off to a good start for 2023. Dustin's grand auditorium Greta model has got the finish on and I'm currently setting it up!

This guitar has a BRW back and sides with lots of Snakewood parts and trim.
There are Snakewood bevels including a waist bevel:

On the Snakewood backstrap I've installed these gorgeous Scheller tuners with Snakewood buttons:

The sound board is aged Italian alpine Spruce.

More pics to come as it all comes together

Thanks! Lots of Snakewood going on here. The top bevels, binding on the body, headstock and sound port etc.

GAA!
A thing of beauty!! That instrument just screams drippy dark chocolate sound.
And it doesn't even have strings on it yet.

Was that a typo, Mark, or are those tuners ShEller (Shaller) tuners? Really sharp looking. Interesting that there are straight slot screws, I'm always nervous the slots aren't deep enough and tightening the driver will slip.

Thanks Noboz, They are Scheller tuners and they are awesome. Their standard tuners are included in my base rates. They have a selection of standards and a large menu of upgrades. They have ball bears through-out which greatly eliminates the backlash that you may be used to with most any company's tuners. They truly are in a league of their own!

Beautiful build. So much Snakewood, I would have thought TomB'sox commissioned it. I would be surprised if he doesn't try to snatch it from Dustin down the line.

Nice work Mark!

Thanks cigarfan, Tom’s right to like Snakewood it certainly lands in the upper elite for things like fretboards and binding. Plus it look great to!

Default Photo Update

Here are a couple more update pictures of Dustin's guitar coming along:

We went with Gold EVO frets:

I wanted to get a good picture of the sculpted headstock with the tuners in:

I really like how well the brown in the BRW goes with the Snakewood. I also like how Snakewood binding looks like old traditional tortoise shell binding.
