Thanks Nemoman. Yes, I'm very happy with how the rosette came out.

Cheers Treenewt! Yes the white Oak was just the obvious choice when I first began designing this guitar, so I had to go with it.

Ah thanks Mike. That means a lot coming from you, as I'm truly inspired by your own work & ideas all the time. If only I had the time to implement many of the methods & ideas you come up with!

Wow! That bog oak is off the hook! As is your workmanship. Just top notch.
I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but i might be borrowing that rosette idea. Awesome work and thanks for sharing. Al.

Wow, you certainly know how to make an entrance!!
Gorgeous looking timber, and some exquisite workmanship.
I was quite surprised to see the dovetail go completely through the neck block. That's a first for me!
We need more!!

Cheers Al. Yes, you're welcome to use this rosette idea. I'd call it a random mosaic tile pattern. It has been around for a very long time & wasn't really invented by myself!

Greatly appreciate your comments Zandit75. Some wood isn't it!

I imagine that the dovetail you're probably more accustomed to seeing is more of a factory method, as it is cut after the box is closed, i.e. when the front, back & sides have all been put together to form a guitar shaped box. Obviously at this stage of the guitars' production, the dovetail can't be routed all the way through, as it would puncture a hole in the back - not a good look!

So with my dovetail - it's done this way as I cut it before gluing on the front or back. I think this creates a slightly stronger neck to body joint, as you have a longer (full length) dovetail at a juncture where strength & rigidity is paramount.

And don't worry...there will be more in the future

It's really great that you're recognising the evolution & progression of this guitar as I take it through to completion...so thank you.
