Well, hopefully the shop kitty doesn't find this because it could now be mistaken for "the" place lol. This is starting to look very promising.

And here's a little peak at the Rosette in process. Coco with a bit of ebony and bloodwood.

Default Progress with bracing

I think these three pictures speak for themselves. To me, they speak of a number of things; most importantly progress. Getting very close to putting it all together into something bound to be very special.

Looks really good...something good is coming your way.

Default Rapidly taking shape

...and getting ready for some really sweet Coco binding. John tells me that the top is tuned to 98 Htz

Really nice looking guitar. I would imagine it's a confidence builder having already owned a guitar built by John.

I noticed the double X braced top; my Carruth also has a double X; not too many luthiers doing that. It sure seemed to work well on my guitar.

Yes, knowing John has personally built over 100 guitars gives me the absolute confidence in what he will produce. The one I owned and sold was one of the finest guitars I've come across for the money. I've owned a LOT of nice guitars from some well known builders and none were built better or sounded better than it did. I'm really excited about what this one will become.

Default Kinnaird build

I can assure you that John Kinnaird is an absolute pleasure to work with - very responsive, willing to consider many ways to achieve your ends, loves working with unusual woods.... I cannot say enough good about him. Oh yes, he happens to build great guitars, too!

Thanks Rob for the kind words! I am hopefully optimistic that you are right about it being a "killer guitar" .

I think John is a HOOT! Great sense of humor, fun to work with, mature in his thinking, easy to talk to, and consistently communicating. I couldn't ask for a better package! And yes, builds GREAT guitars too .

Default I am humbled

Thanks for the kind words you guys. Hopefully I can live up to them

Bro I appreciate your appreciation. We really struggled with that design, as simple as it looks.

Default Coming together :)

John sent me a couple of nice pictures of the binding and purfling.

He was kind enough to let the shop kitty finish making his "deposit" before he snapped the pictures. He tells me that the kitty isn't a bit bashful about marking his territory, but hates to have his picture taken while in the act

Looking good Mike even without the finish yet! The coco binding on this one just gives it the right amount of contrast. Really well balanced appointments overall and very pleasing to the eye.

Thanks Rye. I really feel like this one is coming together just as had I visualized it. The decision to add the Paua around the perimeter was a last minute decision, but I think I'm going to like it a lot. It pushes the "understated elegance envelope" a bit, but I think it will still be at least a little under the radar.

Bottom line is I think John is doing an AWESOME job on this guitar. We have a few little additions on the back side which should bring it together nicely.
