Suggestions for a Photo Editor app
What are some good photo editor apps for editing both photos and videos? Picasa is gone and Microsoft Photos is lacking.
Thanks! |

Different programs for photos and videos. Free for photos: GIMP, RAWtherapee, and Darktable. Paid that's good is Affinity.
For video, Davinci Resolve is great and free.

I used Paintshop Pro for many years and got quite good at photos.
A very misleading name for a photo program. My version at least does not work on Windows 11. |

Totally depends on what you're looking for and what your budget is. Options run from professional to free, and it's a HUGE range of different functions.
This is a pretty good roundup of video software. https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best...iting-software Similar for photos: https://www.pcmag.com/picks/the-best...iting-software |

A very good, free online photo editor is pixlr.com. They even have an "easy" interface and full-featured version.
For video, if online would work for you there as well (and you have fast internet speed), take a look at WeVideo.com. Tbh it's a bit limited until you pay for the 2nd or 3rd tier, but it might fit your needs. |

I use DaVinci Resolve (free) for editing my videos. ACDSee and Affinity Photo are what I use for still shots. These have worked great for me.

I did try GIMP - nice features, but not very easy to use. |

As a recreational drone flyer, I've been looking for a free software to manipulate my videos. Got several recommendations for a free download called Shotcut. Haven't had a moment to try it yet but it seems that you can: - merge video clips with transitions, stills, and so on - add captions and scrolling text - reverse, speed up, slow down - add audio, etc., etc. Found some pretty comprehensive how-to vids on YouTube. Suggestions for a Photo Editor app
I’ve been using Luminar AI, and about to upgrade to Luminar Neo. Super easy to use and very reasonably priced. Of course can never go wrong with Adobe photoshop or Lightroom, but those are subscription based. I have a two computer subscription, but I use Luminar mostly.
Took these Saturday morning. *edit* They have a promotion happening right now. Lifetime license, and training courses! https://skylum.com/luminar/ultimate-...04a48b693a09a& Last edited by 1neeto; 03-19-2023 at 04:14 AM. Reason: Added link |

Another vote for Affinity Photo - one (modest) payment and you’re done until the next major update.
Stills only, though - I can’t comment on video editors.
