The anticipation must kill you! Top spruce is awesome looking on the one angled shot.
The combo with the blackwood should be stellar!

It does! Yes, the top wood has beautiful silking.

Time of birth - January 17, 4:15 p.m.

It exceeded my expectations in sound. I have always loved this combination of Italian Spruce and African Blackwood. I am diving deeper into top voicing and it paid off.
This guitar will be leaving Fogo Island in about a week and a half on its way to Dream Guitars. I'm so looking forward to hearing the recording on this one!

This guitar was to leave Fogo Island yesterday but mechanical issues with the ferry have left us island-bound. Par for the course.

This instrument has a stunning voice with that crunchy low-end that African Blackwood can produce and rich and creamy mids and highs. Like a delicious dessert! I can't wait to hear the recording from Dream Guitars and it is available through them.

Here are some final photos taken before it was packed up yesterday.

Enjoy and thanks to everyone for following.
Peggy

Peggy, that is one stunning instrument! Just beautiful. Here’s hoping your ferry gets back online soon. I’m sure the folks in North Carolina are getting anxious!

Nice guitar! I like your rosette and especially the design on the end graft. It strikes me as a little bit of joyful whimsy. I think that's great!

Hi Peggy,

I don't know if you remember me but we have crossed paths at many shows. It is great to see this absolutely stunning guitar come to fruition. I too love the view out the window in your shop. It is great to let our eyes focus at long-distance to give them a break from the close-up work that we do and you are blessed to have such a great infinite view. While my shop is in the woods, the view is mostly obscured. Still has good mojo although not a view like that. Thanks for sharing some of your process.

John, yes I do remember you. I hope you are doing well.

Thanks for your comments.

It's funny how we can become used to our surroundings and miss the magic. Thanks for the reminder to 'look up'.

I agree with John about the photo with the view out the window. Beautiful view and such a stunning guitar. The design elements are so tasteful. I’m looking forward to hearing sound clips, too. Dave

And the guitar is now up on Dream Guitars website! Love what Al Pettaway does with it and thanks to Logan for going over the specs.
Nice crunchy bass, African Blackwood is great for that and the Italian Spruce adds that clarity and resonance.
