I am late to the game on this one, but my oh my, that is a stunning guitar! In both tone and looks, a home run for sure. Well done!

Of course! Those two are some of the high points in my lutherie memory.
Thanks Treenewt, we’re glad you dropped by. |

Good eye Dennis, I think ours were two of the best out of some very nice choices!

Nice video! One of those looks familiar to me, I think!

Still trying to get ready for the Artisan show. One of our offerings, if able to finish, will be this dread.
IMG_1678717182.653479.jpg IMG_1678717211.807736.jpg It sports some straight-grained, but extremely well-quartered Sapele back and sides. The top is Adirondack with a cream soda ‘burst meant to capture the essence of the side color. Herringbone around sound hole and perimeter. Fingers crossed for a successful finish date. Oh yes, the bindings are Leopardwood. Steve Last edited by Steve Kinnaird; 03-13-2023 at 08:26 AM. Reason: Forgot some info. |

Guitars you do, look so fine, Stephen.
"One day" I am coming to visit your shop, it is onlly that 3hr long, beautiful, East Texas Piney Woods drive that hinders me.

That’s gorgeous, Steve! I’m really fond of that type of sunburst. Hope you get it back in time for the show. Dave

Hi, Steve and Ryan.
Is the "in-progress" Dreadnought only the second one of that model you've built? I think I have the first, this great-sounding Paldao/Sitka beauty: |

After a couple hundred guitars we finally decided to dip our toes in the dread pond—and turns out the water’s fine. |

What is bigger, the dread model or the SJ?

They’re both 20” long—they share that dimension; the dread has a wider waist, but the SJ has a wider lower bout (15 5/8” v. 16”)
I have threatened to conduct the Cheerios test between the two models. You know, how many Cheerios can you fit inside this guitar? That would tell you at a glance about the air volume from model to model. This might be a fun test for B.I.G. IV ? |

Yes fun and fulfilling after we add the milk and sugar! Sounds like they are close to the same, but have a different body shape. I just know how amazing my SJ sounds so was wondering what the Dread could do. I would guess, amazing as well, but different lol!

We got to have some fun this past week hanging out with Ben Wilborn and Brad Jones. They were gracious enough to record some of their music while playing our guitars in the shop. I’ll be releasing their songs over the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.
