Default Small steps today

I joined my very first set of plates today. Spent about an hour getting past the light test. I then proceeded with the tent method, great squeeze out. I am anxiously waiting for it to dry to check my work.

Assuming you put weights on them to hold down the seam with pressure from the sides?

Tip: Release the side pressure before removing weights on top. I had one jump back into tent shape and crack in the middle when I removed the weights first.

Good Luck with your project

Be encouraged by the small steps of success, and let the times of error become learning experiences. I was bending a side using the "hot pipe" method, and was amazed at the feel of the side beginning to form a waist... then the dreaded muffled cracking sound.
A lesson learned that day, proper thickness of your wood species will add in the bending process, also that some species will prefer more/less moisture during the bend. Keep at it, and enjoy each build. !
