Default I'm Here to Get My Baby out of Jail

Well, that's how it goes when you're in love, you know. You'll do what you have to get your beloved back. Lol. This is a cool old tune, originally cut by The Everly Brothers. I learned it from David Nelson and the Jerry Garcia Acoustic Band, and I have been playing it for decades. It's G-D-C in standard tuning, simple bluesy bluegrass, played on my trusty Alvarez MD60BG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znmkd6L2MQo

Thanks so much, my friend. One of my desert island discs would be JGAB "Almost Acoustic." I have loved that recording for over 30 years or so, man. And it really got me into David Nelson as well. He is a killer musician and such a cool and enlightened person. Jake Feinburg has done a couple long interviews with Nelson, and they are priceless. Nelson has some stories, to say the least.

Thank you again for checking out the tune, and please call me Tim.

Agree Tim! And don't forget "Let it Rock" with Nicky Hopkins. One of my ATF. Joe

Wow, almost halfway through my 65th trip around the sun and I come upon a Jerry Band song I was heretofore unaware of... Well, I like it - I don't know how your version compares to others because I've never heard it before, at least that I can recall. But I like it! I may have to look into this one a bit further. Thanks for sharing this...

Great job! I love this tune. One of my favorite albums. Garcia’s picking style is so masterful but loose at the same time. Will be listening to this album all weekend now and look forward to digging in on David Nelson and getting to know. Thanks for posting!

Hey, Ray, thanks for checking it out. It's a tune that I really do love. I am sure there are many much better versions than mine.

This is the version that mine is based upon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yZ68cQ7G8Y

Thank you so much, man. I agree completely about Jerry's playing. He's always been my biggest inspiration. David Nelson is great, too, from NRPS to the David Nelson Band--great music.
